Reagents: Nightshade
Deadly nightshade (also known as “belladonna”) is another denizen of the swamps, named for its strange, waxy flowers that bloom only at night. It must be handled and prepared with great care, as it is poisonous to the touch. For magical use it can be boiled or brewed as a tisane. As a reagent, nightshade concentrates the powers of death, damage, poison, and illusion.
Alchemical Uses
All forms of poison use nightshade in one way or another, and poisons are available as many different potions in Britannia. A weak Poison potion can be made by anyone using a single nightshade. An average alchemist can brew a level-2 poison using two nightshade, while a more skilled alchemist can use four to create a level-3 poison. Finally, a master alchemist can brew the deadliest poison (comparable to a Poison Elemental’s touch) using eight nightshade.
Magical Uses
Nightshade is used primarily in spells whose purpose is to bring death.
